Security manager jobs offer a balance between responsibility and reward

Sound judgement and discretion is also required in the application of regulation. The position carries a lot of weight, because the manager is not only responsible for the safety and security of the project at hand, but also for that of the men and women in his team.

This should, however, not be anything new for an individual with experience in this field. The benefit of doing it in this environment is that the salary is significantly higher than one would receive locally. This is because of the responsibility and the skill required, and also the location of the operation. Even though it may very well not be located in a warzone, most of the areas that need contractors will be situated in areas of unrest (or dangerzones), and that might pose a potential risk.
